Local Projects A Win For Sunshine Residents And Traders

08 April 2026

Sunshine residents and businesses will have a new plaza, arts hub and urban art thanks to the Labor Government.

Minister Shing today announced $7.5 million for new urban renewal and precinct activation projects.

Projects announced today will be delivered in partnership with Brimbank City Council.

Funding will deliver a new plaza on Clarke St which will be used for community events.

We’re also delivering a modular arts hub on Clarke St, supporting a multicultural urban art gallery and program.

A range of urban art installations will be built across Sunshine – branding it as a leading arts destination in Melbourne’s West.

Labor is also funding upgrades to the Sunshine Library forecourt including better lighting and open space.

Labor is investing more than $20 billion in the Sunshine Precinct, including $4 billion for the Sunshine Superhub.

We’re delivering better walking and cycling links over the rail line and new open spaces for the community.

Sunshine is a hub for healthcare, education and manufacturing – Labor is delivering a vibrant urban environment, high-quality housing and the jobs and transport that families in our growing West need.
